These terms are the agreement between you and whoever runs this site, called "the site admin" below. By creating an account you accept them. They're written to be read, so please read them.
What this site is, and isn't
PCE Campus Voice is a place for students to rate mess meals, review parts of campus, raise complaints and read notices. It's run independently by students.
It isn't run, funded or endorsed by Poornima College of Engineering. Nothing posted here is a statement by the college, and a complaint raised here isn't a formal grievance to it. If you need the college to act, use the college's own process too. This site can make a problem visible. It can't make anyone fix it.
Who can join
- Students and staff of Poornima College of Engineering with an email address ending in @poornima.org. Sign-up checks it by emailing a code to that address.
- One account each. Don't make extra accounts, and don't sign up for someone else.
- If you're under 18, check with a parent or guardian before you sign up.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what's posted from your account. If you think someone else has used it, change your password in Settings, which signs out every other device, and let the site admin know.
Your username must not pretend to be someone else, the college, or its staff, and must not be offensive. The site admin can switch off an account whose username breaks this.
What you post
What you write stays yours. By posting it, you let this site show it to signed-in users, show reviews on the public home page without any name attached, and keep it until you delete it, your account is deleted, or an admin removes it.
You're responsible for what you post. It has to follow the community guidelines. In short: write about what you've seen yourself, review services rather than people, keep other people's private details out of it, and don't post what you know isn't true. A false statement that harms someone's reputation can be unlawful whoever posts it, with or without a name.
Posting without your name hides it from other students only. The site admin can find out who wrote any post. See the privacy notice for exactly what that means.
Moderation
Any signed-in student can report a review. The site admin reads reports and can:
- hide a review, in which case its author sees the reason given
- delete a review, reply, complaint or notice that breaks the guidelines
- switch off an account that breaks the guidelines badly or more than once
Each of these is written to a log that admins can't edit from the site. An admin can hide your words but can't change them. If you think a decision was wrong, say so on the contact page.
If someone asks for a post to be removed and gives a good reason, such as a court order or a clear breach of someone's privacy, the site admin may remove it.
No promises
The site is run by students in their own time, and it's offered as it is. It may be down, slow, or lose data. Ratings and reviews are the opinions of the students who wrote them, and the site admin doesn't check whether they're accurate.
Don't rely on this site as your only record of anything important. If a complaint matters to you, keep your own note of it and raise it with the college as well.
As far as the law allows, the site admin isn't responsible for losses caused by using the site or by what other students post on it.
Leaving
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. That removes what you posted, as described in the privacy notice. The site admin can switch off an account that breaks these terms. The site itself may close, and if it does, a notice will go up first where that's possible.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top will change and a notice will be posted on the site. If you keep using the site after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree with them, you can delete your account.
Questions go through the contact page.
